Drinking Beer in London
Back in March, my boyfriend Mike and I went to Paris and London for spring break. It was the first time in Europe for both of us and we were beyond excited. We were especially looking forward to the beer in London.
Our beer adventures took us from 400-year-old taverns, to trendy beer bars, to a fun, colorful brewery with branding to die for! As you may know, I am not the biggest fan of cask beer, a mainstay in London. While it’s not my favorite, I think I enjoyed it a bit more than usual in London - something about embracing the culture, ya know?
It was a whirlwind trip and I can’t wait to go back. Here are some of the beer highlights of the trip:
- Our first adventure in London was at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, a tavern that was re-built in 1666 after the Great Fire of London. This is where I learned that Londoners embrace a good session cask.
- Camden Town Brewery. Ok, y’all. I loved it here. Their branding is so fun and colorful. TBH, it reminded me a bit of Bauhaus Brew Labs.
- Craft Beer Co Bar was a craft beer lover’s dream! I wish we could have stayed longer. So many beers on tap and I needed to try them all.
