Beer Cocktail: Lady in White
The Lady in White beer cocktail is very easy to make. It’s elevated - St. Germain and Grand Marnier?! So fancy. It’s light, but strong. Kind of like a mimosa, kind of like a shandy, but again - so much fancier.
Some friends recently got together for a dinner party, and since I am about the least domestic person in the world, I thought, “I’ll contribute booze!” I adapted this recipe from Draft Magazine and gave it my own little twist (and by that I mean I doubled the recipe).
It calls for a champagne glass to serve from, but I went with mason jars. It calls for a lemon and orange peel garnish, but I went with… nothing. Basically I’m saying that you can make this as fancy or trashy as you want. You’re still going to feel at least a little elegant sipping on St. Germain and Grand Marnier.
Also, give it some local flair with a local Hefeweizen. I went with the Utepils Hefe. Utepils, which means a beer to drink outside, has a taproom in Bryn Mawr in Minneapolis that I still need to visit! It’s at the top of my list. How many of you have been to Utepils? Let me know what to drink there in the comments!
- 1/2 ounce St. Germain
- 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
- 1 ounce Hefeweizen (I used Utepils Hefeweizen)
